About Us
Congregation Beth Hamedrosh in Wynnewood, PA is situated in Philadelphia’s suburb of Lower Merion Township, conveniently close to Philadelphia’s central business district. The township contains one of the highest rated library systems in the country; excellent city services such as snow removal, recycling, tree planting, two nearby parks with updated playground equipment and a sensory garden; an active neighborhood civic association and an excellent hospital.
Within Wynnewood’s extensive eruv are homes and rentals ranging from moderately priced and up on tree lined streets. We enjoy all the advantages of living in a consumer-oriented suburb located on the border of Philadelphia, one of the largest cities in the country.
Close by are museums, the zoo, an international airport with a direct daily flight to Tel Aviv, Amtrak, sports arenas, historic places like the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, symphonies, live theater, and other cultural institutions. All are a short drive from Wynnewood.
In Wynnewood are all the amenities needed to live an enriched Jewish life: a synagogue, kosher restaurant; a national grocery chain with an extensive kosher section and fish and deli counter; a bakery; a women’s mikvah; a community eruv; and adult Jewish learning opportunities.
An excellent elementary school, a co-ed yeshiva high school, a boys’ high school, a girls’ high school, the famed Philadelphia Yeshiva, and other educational facilities are nearby. Special sports leagues that accommodate Shomer Shabbat children are offered at the Kaiserman JCC.

House of Kosher Helps CBH
House of Kosher has instituted a program that could be of great benefit to the shul. This will give our members an opportunity to help our congregation without added cost or effort.
On any amount that a member spends, House of Kosher will give 2% of the sale right back to the shul! All that is needed is to mention our synagogue’s unique Shopper Code and the discount is immediately applied as a credit to Beth Hamedrosh.
CBH’s code is 6444,
easy to remember, as it is the last four digits of the shul’s phone number.
HoK has added an incentive for any first-time customer from Beth Hamedrosh. The member will receive a 10% discount on a
shopping total over $100!
